Bawal Bakar Saus Tomato (Grilled Pomfret with Tomato Sauce)

Pomfret are perciform fishes belonging to the family Bramidae. They are found in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans, and the largest species, the Atlantic pomfret, Brama brama, grows up to 1 metre (3.3 ft) long. This is a great South Eastern recipe.

Ingredients

  • 600 gr pomfret fish
  • 2 tbsp of lime juice
  • ♥♦♥♦ Blended Spices:
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 cm of turmeric
  • 2 cm of Ginger
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • ♥♦♥♦ Sauce: 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 50 gr brown onions, finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp of tomato sauce
  • 3 tbsp of tomato paste
  • ½ tsp of pepper powder
  • ½ tsp of fine salt
  • ½ tsp of sugar
  • 3 tbsp of margarine

Directions:
Buried fish in lime juice and blended spices then leave for 25 minutes
Grill pomfret fish until cooked
Heat margarine, sauté garlic, brown onions until fragrant
Add the tomato paste, tomato sauce, pepper, salt and sugar
Stir well
Serve the dish accompanied with tomato sauce
